Just looking at my numbers, it seems like the majority of my runs are squarely in Zone 5. Which seems like a bit of a stretch to me. I tend to push myself with every run, but I'm not all out sprinting, it's a sustained effort throughout a 4 mile run. It makes me think Zone 5 should be higher, and I should be calibrating Zone 4 to reach into the
After the 15.20 firmware upgrade thru the Garmin Express on my Fenix 6X, the GPS stopped working. I did multiple resets, even hard reset to default, GPS version still show 0.00. Tried to manually update the GPS version to 5.00 by copying "006B310701.GCD" into \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder but did not work. When I perform an activity I care to record I use a heart rate strap, always. The 6X has the best wrist HR of any of my Fenix watches, and is the only one that gives good (perfect) results for indoor cycling, but I still use the strap anyway. The watch does not switch at will from strap to wrist and back again. It uses what it is supposed to. For best results, you should wear the watch while sleeping. The watch requires three weeks of consistent sleep data to display your heart rate variability status. Your seven-day average HRV is within your baseline range. Your seven-day average HRV is above or below your baseline range. Your seven-day average HRV is well below your baseline
For me, Fenix 6X wrist HR monitor was borderline unusable. I used Polar H10 chest monitor on nearly all of my runs. I can clearly see when the WHR is failing because my typical HR is fairly low. I have to work pretty hard to get HR even to 160, and typically it rarely goes above 150, perhaps only when I run uphill.
The heart rate monitor was incredible the calorie measurement accuracy was really good. However, the GPS doesn't lock. I'm in the process of receiving a new one from Fitbit. I decided to upgrade my Fenix 3 anyway and I just purchased the Fenix 6X Pro Saffire. I've been really enjoying the watch. However, the heart rate monitor accuracy is the 3XtER.
