Itisn't. The latest tech update that I have seen says the Valve Lash check for 1130cc displacement motors is 15,000 Miles. I believe the Valve Lash check has been moved to 12,000 on the 1250cc bikes. Your 50K mile plan is a bit generous. I would check valve lash every 30K miles at a bare minimum. iRm9.
