Around 15% of the Half Life plot is found in Half Life 1 and the expansions. Half Life 2 and its episodes contain around 50%, mainly thanks to Episode 1 and Episode 2 where a lot of stuff happen (SPOILERS Citadel exploding, advisors introduced, Alyx getting nearly killed and the whole White Forest business /SPOILERS).
